Inter-Library Loan (ILL)

Did our small Gustavus library not have what you're looking for?  It's not difficult to obtain materials that we do not own here. ILL items can be sent from another library through Inter-Library Loan program at the Anchorage Public Library.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU START

Always check with the desk sitter and/or librarians first before requesting an inter-library loan.  It is also possible that we may have a similar book or DVD on a given subject that would meet your needs.  It may turn out that the Gustavus Library would like to buy the book to have here for other patrons!  Please don't hesitate to ask, we are here to serve you!  : )

Mailing Costs

We would greatly appreciate a donation of $3 to help defray the cost of mailing back ILL books.

Directions for Requesting books or DVD's from another library:

1. E-mail us!  If you are not physically in the library, please feel free to email Jen (jen.gardner@gustavus.lib.ak.us) or Bre (bre.ohlson@gustavus.lib.ak.us).  Include Title, Author, Date Published if available and ISBN number.  You can find all of this information online, at Amazon, or another book vendor for example.

2. Leave us a note!  If you are here in the library reading this, you may get up and walk slowly to the front desk... no running allowed!  ; )  Inter-Library Request forms are located on the front counter.  Fill in as much of the information as you can and we'll get your request off to Anchorage!

Depending on the weather and other factors, your book or DVD will arrive in about a week.  Remember, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
