Greetings from City Hall

I wanted to provide you with an update on the Xunaa Borough Petition. Since the LBC's decisional meeting on November 12, city staff and dedicated council members have been gathering information, seeking resources, and listening to the recording of the meeting to highlight important conversations that pertain to our concerns regarding the decision to approve the petition. We have been working with an attorney to identify key areas of concern, and she is working on a draft request for reconsideration. The LBC's final written decision, due by December 12th, will further define our response. 

Any individuals may file a request for reconsideration with the LBC if they wish. We have obtained an official transcript of the LBC meeting and have a printed copy here at City Hall if anyone wishes to read it. For a digital copy of your own, please fill out a Public Records Request Form and email it to Clerk Barker, clerk@gustavus-ak.gov.
